Ryan Keyser Announces Candidacy for West Virginia House of Delegates

Augusta, West Virginia- Ryan Keyser has announced that he is seeking the Republican nomination for the West Virginia House of Delegates in the 58th District, which consists of Morgan County and Eastern Hampshire County..
“I never thought there would come a day when I would seek to run for public office”, said Keyser, “But that day as come for me, as I watch the ever increasing size and power of government attempt to destroy our way of life.”
Keyser has dedicated his life to serving the public and has been a professional fire-fighter for over 13 years. Formerly of Berkeley Springs, he resides with his wife Michelle in Augusta, West Virginia.
“As I watch the politicians in Charleston and Washington D.C. strive to take away more of our liberty and property, I know we need someone who will not engage in ‘politics as usual’, but rather stand and fight.”

“It is the duty of every elected official to protect and defend our founding principles,” continued Keyser, “That of life, liberty and property. But every year we see elected officials compromising and bargaining away that which our forefathers fought to preserve.”

“The people of the 58th District need a representative that will stand with them to restore our Constitution and the Republic it founded.”

West Virginia Needs Real Pro Gun Representation

Augusta,  West Virginia - Ryan Keyser,  Republican candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates 58th district, released the following statement.

" Last session my opponent opposed the 2nd Amendment Rights of West Virginians, even to the point of refusing to fight against the DC gun grabbers on the House Floor," said Keyser, "We need real conservatives who will stand for your rights, no matter who opposes them."

Last session both Constitutional Carry and the Nullification of Future Federal Gun Laws were introduced in the House of Delegates. The Daryl Cowles, current elected representative from District 58 refused to sponsor either.

"Constitutional Carry will grant West Virginians the ability to conceal carry a firearm without having to beg the state for a permit to exercise their second amendment rights,"continued Keyser ," while allowing citizens to obtain a permit under the current system when looking for reciprocity to carry concealed in other states."

"Why should law abiding citizens be forced to spend hundreds of dollars in classes and permits to exercise their constitutional second amendment rights? Why should those who choose to conceal carry be forced to be put in databases because they choose to conceal their firearm. "

"Not only did my opponent not support Constitutional Carry, he also stood with Manchin and the DC gun grabbers when he refused to vote on the floor for the nullification of unconstitutional federal gun laws."

"Those in elected positions have a duty to first and foremost fulfill their oath to support and defend the Constitution and supporting the second amendment should be priority one,  especially for so called Republicans in Charleston. "

Candidate Ryan Keyser supports Congressman Steve Stockman and H.R.4380

Augusta, West Virginia - Ryan Keyser, Republican Candidate for the House of Delegates 58th District, released the following statement regarding a bill introduced by Congressman Steve Stockman to prohibit Federal gun confiscation and registration.

"This bill is a game changer when it comes to protecting the firearms freedoms of Americans. It will also help to identify which representatives truly support the second amendment and which want to set up the ability for the government to set up databases for potential confiscation. This is why I support H.R.4380.” “We need to not only support this legislation on a federal level but bring a similar bill to the floor in the West Virginia Legislature. It is time for our elected representatives to stand firmly with their oath of office and the 2nd Amendment. To often, to garner votes, elected representatives claim to support our right to keep and bear arms, while doing nothing to support that claim."

H.R.4380, the Gun Confiscation and Registration Prevention Act, was introduced recently to the House of Representatives by Congressman Stockman of Texas . The bill will withhold any funding to any jurisdiction that maintains a registry of gun ownership, as well as any jurisdiction that conducts a program of gun confiscation directed at any firearm which is not prohibited by federal law or any group of persons who are not prohibited from possessing a firearm under Federal law.

"Last session, Michael Folk (R-63) introduced the 2nd Amendment Preservation Act in the West Virginia legislature. This bill would have outlawed future Federal gun control laws in our state. Since the anti- gun Democratic majority refused to allow the bill a floor vote, a motion was made to discharge (force the bill to the floor for a vote) the 2nd Amendment Preservation Act. By a show of hands, only 10 Republicans supported this effort to defend your right to keep and bear arms If I am your representative in Charleston, I can assure you I will stand for the 2nd Amendment," said Keyser.
